Problems in navigation mode

Hi,
I have some problems in navigation mode. When I start Navigate from the menu, my mobile opens an internet connection, and I get the green squares with the text "Downloading" on the display. But then the downloaded map only consist of blue squares with a cross inside them. There is no difference if I zoom in or out to maximum. This is If I have Google Maps set as the Map Provider. If I use Yahoo Maps I only get a white display unless I zoom out so much that I get whole Scandinavia on the display. (My location is Fredrikstad in Norway, Latitude:59.196, Longitude: 10,976).

I don't get any results when I try to use Address Search either.

My bluetooth connection for the GPS receiver works fine, my position is shown correctly, and my internet connection seams to work as it should. In the Proxy Settings, I don't have anything, but I guess GPSWatch uses my normal internet settings if no proxy settings are present?

I got GPSWatch Plus v.3.5.9, and I have a Nokia 6300. I have approximately 6,2MB of free internal memory, and GPSWatch is stored on my memory card.

What am I doing wrong?

Regards Gus.

It may be that the map

It may be that the map provider does not cover the area you require. I have had the same problem but sovled it using a different provider. Try each one in turn. Also, not all resolutions will be available so try loading at different zoom levels.

If you run the OMD tool on a PC, you can experiment with different zoom levels and map providers and find out which one works for your area.

Hi Geof, I used an earlier

Hi Geof,

I used an earlier version of GPSWatch just a few weeks ago, and I had the maps for my area when I used either Google or Yahoo as the provider. All the zoom levels too.

I also used OMD without problems back then, but have not tried OMD lately.

I have most of the maps I need on my PC from that time, so I'm going to download these to my phone, just to check that I can get any maps on my display at all. I'll get back after I have test it a little.
