Trace Route over Map

Hi,

Small feature requests

- would it be possible to have the option when tracing the route to do so over the map? giving a live indication of where you are without having to go to locate on map button
- have it automatically connect to the previous GPS device on startup?
- have the option to convert the current location (in Navigate) to other coordinate systems such as the OS grid (UK) or display the current location in format degrees'minutes'seconds?
- have the traceroute function start from the center of the screen rather than the top left hand corner

Many thanks - the above are not important but just some ideas of ways to improve things :-)

Actually map loading itself a very costly operation on small hardware platform like phone, drawing lines over that using traced points will be a considerable overhead for the phone. We fear that might lead to some out of memory issues.

We will do this and provide an option to enable/disable this in "Other Setting menu" in our upcoming release.

Point taken, our upcoming release will feature Ordnance Survey Grid representation also.

- have the traceroute function start from the center of the screen rather than the top left hand corner

We will consider this one too.

You can expect our next release with this features in the first week of June.

I do like the tracepoint accuracy feature. However, it would be helpful to indicate in the documentation some hint of what each level 0-10 actually means. (Capture every x sec. or so).

one last feature request - is it possible to change the distance for how often it collects tracepoints?

i.e. when driving not so many tracepoints are needed because you cover a large distance quickly, however when walking a smaller distance is required to show the route more accurately?

I think we have covered most of the features you requested in GPSWatch v2.5 including

1. Altitude Metering Report displays a graph of altitude progression (Only on Platinum)
2. Automatic connects to the previously connected GPS device on startup
3. Several coordinate representation including Ordnance Survey Grid
4. Tracepoint accuracy is now configurable (levels 0-10)
5. Direction indicator in Locate on Map and Trace Route reports
6. Traceroute function now starts from the center view of the screen
7. Clear data not consistently clears trace and other data
