motorola e398@ROKR

Is your software compatible with motorola e398 (modded)? I searched in the compatibility page and can't find this model, but i've read somewhere that it may work...

Hi Thank you for your

Hi

Thank you for your interest in our product,
GPSWatch does not work in e398 because of lack of API's in Motorola's J2ME implementation for accessing GPS Receiver via Bluetooth,

But we are unsure about the modded firmware you are using,
That may expose some additional API's for the J2ME implementation,

So we suggest you to try installing FPC BENCH from http://www.getjar.com/products/3200/FPCBENCH to know the exact Java specification supported by your phone and the firmware.

I installed the software you

I installed the software you recomended and the Info Tool gave me this report:

So, I suppose it doesn't work with the current firmware mod.
My next question is: Is it possible that I can flash some new firmware that may change this values?

Sorry for the long post
Thanks for your answer

Hi vegeta Sorry for the

Hi vegeta

Sorry for the delay in reply,
Your Phone's current firmware's J2ME implementation doesn't allow J2ME based applications to access devices via Bluetooth,

According to Motorola their default firmware for Motorola e398 would allow J2ME based application to access devices via Bluetooth

So we suggest install GPSWatch Trial in a Motorola e398 phone containing original Motorola supplied firmware,

And also * - JSR-75 API of Motorola Phone does not support third-party applications like GPSWatch so File System Caching and Import/Export features might not work properly. But there is a workaround available for this problem here , (Disclaimer : This workaround is provided "as is" without any warranties, Interchain Solution is not liable for any damages caused by following the above given procedure.)
