SE W300i + GoPass GPT-801 BT GPS

I am trying to get GPSWatch to work with my SonyEricsson W300i and the GoPass GPT-801 bluetooth GPS receiver. The receiver connects fine with my laptop (with a D-Link DBT-120 USB bluetooth adapter). However, I cannot get my cell phone to connect. The GPS receiver has a blue light to indicate when the bluetooth is connected. I never see that indicate a connection when trying to connect from the phone. I have tried this with the phone paired and un-paired with the GPS device.

Some possible issues I can see are:

1. The bluetooth name for the device is "BT GPS". This has a space in it. Could this be causing problems?
2. The bluetooth PIN for this device is not the default 0000, but it is 1234. Whenever I select "BT GPS" when trying to connect to the device in GPSWatch, I am never asked for the PIN and I get no warning or any other messages. I just do not get updated data in Navigate. Instead I get "NC".

This GPS receiver uses the SiRF Star III chipset like the Holux 236, so I expect it should work once I get the bluetooth connection issue working. Thanks for any help you can give me. I am very interested in purchasing GPS Platinum if I can get the demo to work.

I think I finally stumbled

I think I finally stumbled upon the answer. My phone is from Cingular and I discovered after doing a lot of internet searching that Cingular adds extra java security locks so that Bluetooth cannot be used from an unsigned java MIDlet. So it looks like I can't use bluetooth GPS on my cingular phone. Bummer.
