How about a Windows Based GPSWatch?

I have been using GPSWatch for a while now on my SE V630i (platinum version) and i find it a very practical alternative to a big name retail gps system.

I tried recently to run GPSWatch on my Toshiba R100 laptop, using the emulator that comes with the J2ME Wireless Toolkit 2.2, but this does not allow connection to my GPS receiver through a PCMCIA Blutooth Card.

There is no doubt many reasons why this does not work, so i'm not expecting a fix or a detailed description of how to get it working.

What i am asking, is for you to consider a Windows based version of GPSWatch.

This would have none of the memory restrictions that mobile phones have, and allow us to run much larger map files that we have downloaded using the OMDT, all on a much larger screen, making things alot easier to see.

I've been looking for Windows based GPS software, but they all require a constant internet connection, or they have thier own maps.

GPSWatch gives users the choice of what maps to use and allows us to download them for offline use.

Hope you consider this, as it would no doubt benifit you as well. ($$)
Thanks.

Hi, We fully agree with your

Hi,

We fully agree with your suggestion, GPSWatch desktop version has a good potential. Right now we are working on GPSWatch Plus which will support unlimited maps, better memory management & map caching, etc.

So once thats out, we will definitely take up desktop based GPS client.

Thanks,
